Disclaimer: I don't own Les Miz, and the lyrics to A Little Fall of Rain aren't mine either. But it's my favourite LM song EVER! And Eponine's the best character! Stupid Cosette should never have gotten Marius!!!!
"watching over you"
Eponine lay on the hard ground,feeling the blood rush out of her body through the hole in her chest. She felt like crying,but she couldn't cry,because M'sieur Marius might come any time,and he couldn't see her cry. But it hurt so much. It hurt all over. She looked up at the sky which was becoming slowly darker,and felt her eyes sting with tears she couldn't cry. She sniffled and tried to pull herself up,putting her hand flat on the ground. The bits of stone and dirt ground into her bleeding hand.
Suddenly she looked up as she heard footsteps.
"M'sieur Marius." She called softly. But he didn't here her. He walked on past her and she realised she was going to die alone. Slowly she changed her position again,hoping to find a less painful way to die.
It was all that damn Cosette's fault. If she hadn't come and taken M'sieur Marius away.They would have so happy,somehow. She could have won M'sieur Marius over,and then everything would have been alright. Then she wouldn't have to die. She sniffled again and wished she were somewhere else. She wished she were with M'sieur Marius right now. Then she realised that he was going to live because she was dying. She took a deep breathe that made her whole body her,and tried to smile. M'sieur Marius would always be okay now. Nothing could hurt him,cause she'd watch over him and protect him always.
She slowly turned her body up so she could look at the sky. The sun was going down,and it was bright red and looked like it was dripping blood. This was the end. And somehow,it was alright. Things would be alright.
She pictured M'sieur Marius and his children,children that she wouldn't be able to bear for him. She pictured him when they first met,and all the times she'd ever seen him,his hair ruffled in the wind. If he was happy,that's what was important. If only he was happy.
She blinked fuzzily at the river of blood that had almost finished it's pouring from her chest. She reached out her hand once in the direction M'sieur Marius had gone. It was all over. It was done.
And she didn't really mind. Just as long as he was happy.Then everything was okay. She smiled peacefully and felt her spirit leaving her dead body. She sought out M'sieur Marius quickly,and kissed him,her ghostly transparant lips touching his real,warm ones. She smiled again. She would watch over him always.
//And rain...
Will make the flowers...
Grow...//
The End
