in the book it seems like Elwing doesnt really care about her sons. like the silmaril is more important than them... Elrond and Elros are twins in my world! short but good!

I am scared but i won't let my people see that I am. I have just been informed that the kinslayers have found where the silmaril is and will destoy everything in their path. I yell out orders. I must be ready when they come.
I run to my house and look for my two boys. I find them outside playing in the sand.
"Elrond, Elros, come."
They look up at me with their beautiful blue eyes. Just like their fathers...
"Why, naneth?" Elros says with cunfusion in his eyes.
I have to choose my words carefully. I don't want them to be frightened.
"It will not be safe here." I cannot lie to them.
I take them into the house and get things ready for them. They are so young. I love them so much. Their fate will not be like my brothers. I shudder at that though. The twins see this and hug me.
"It will be okay, naneth." My eldest says.
I cannot leave them, but I can't leave my duty to the silmaril. They will be safer away from here.
"Twins, you must go to the closest city north of here."
I give them supplies, it is not far to the city.
"I love you, my sons." I hug them. I can't let them go.
"I love you too, naneth." They both say in unison. They leave and i must not cry. I watch until i cannot see them and then run to get the silmaril.
They are here.

I run to the edge.
"Give us the silmaril! There will be no more deaths when you do!"
I snort, they will never stop.
I'm almost there. I don't want to leave my sons here but I know what I must do. They will be safe.
I'm finally there.
I leap over the edge.
This is not in vain.
I have hope.
