Comments This is dedicated to Kat-chan, for just being my friend. She love love loves fluff, so this is just a little present for her. I'm not telling you who it's about, you have to guess that one for yourself!

She fell further. There was no stopping this endless plunge into the bitter darkness. It burned and bit at her skin, daring to tear it to pieces if she tried to struggle against the wind. She had no control over it, nor could she stop it, so all she could do was wait until she hit rock bottom. She had no idea when that would be, so she could do nothing but wait, not even allowing her eyes to stare downwards to spot the bottom of the pit. She knew it would neither ease her fear or stop her from falling.

She couldn't take it anymore. She screamed into the darkness, but no sound came out, which frightened her even more. Her lungs felt like they were bursting, as if she was underwater. But she was not. She finally shook her body away from the grasp of the pull, only for it to slice her arms without relent. However, she did not retract her movements and continued to reach upward, daring even enough to make large, languid swimming motions with her arms and legs as if it would help pull her back to the top of the hole.

It did not. Again a scream, and she clasped her hands to her throat, feeling the liquid rushing up from her chest. More frightened now than ever, she balled herself up, trying to drown herself in nonexistance as she did so. She could see a faint glimmer of light at the top of the tunnel, and she wished she could only fight her way back up to the top. The light was receding, however, the further she fell down.

Suddenly, however, her speed decreased and she was floating, slowly, down to the bottom. When the floor came into view, she released an inaudible gasp. She may have been going slower now, but the bottom didn't look very promising, covered in harsh spikes. She screamed again, and reached her hand out, praying for something to come and save her.

Her prayers were answered.

A hand reached down and grabbed hers, stopping her falling completely. It pulled her back up the surface, and into loving arms which belonged to a smiling face, golden brown eyes looking down at her angelic face through messy brown hair that poked out in all directions. She exhaled, finally feeling safe. Warm arms wrapped around her in an embrace, and she rested her head against a soft chest.

He smoothed down her hair, and she cooed under him. He smiled softly, and picked her up, walking her back to her bed. He laid her down and kissed her forehead, taking her hand. She looked over to him that beautiful innocence she held all her own, which captivated him beyond the point of believing. Her emerald green eyes shimmering with glittering tears closed slowly, threatening to drift to slumber.

They could have stayed like that forever, but it wouldn't permit. She pulled him close to her once more as the darkness lifted and their world existed no more.
