A/N : It wouldn't be a normal Sunday night unless I was inspired to write a poem, now would it? So here is last nights piece - it's kind of a poem, though it's really more like a story that rhymes...I think you'll see what I mean when you read it. It's Spikes POV and it's AUPost-Chosen. Hope you like it.

A Greater Love

They gave me a choice.

As I stood upon the cloud-like surface, looking out at all the white
I was confronted by a beauty, completely bathed in light
She told me, 'Step up here with me, William, look below us at the earth
See how those you loved are living now, as I tell you of your worth'
I didn't understand it at first, but looked as I was told
There beyond the sparkling, misty sky, I saw my own Goddess of gold
Buffy smiled, and looked happy there now, I was glad to see her so
She ran inside, into Angels arms - that was a bit of a blow
Still, my Slayer was contented now, with the man she'd always love
I turned to face the heavenly body, asked what she was speaking of
'We have a gift for you' she told me 'We will give you back your life
Since it was lost for love of another, and by your own sacrifice'
Understatement, to say I was shocked, she completely blew me away
But was there a point to going back now, or did I just want to stay?
I asked for time and was given it, but I didn't need it really
When I saw the one I was looking for, the answer came all too clearly
There was weeping even way up here, one girl in this heavenly place
Sat huddled in a corner, sadly, tears cascading down her face
I checked the sight below once again, and sure I'd made my choice
I called upon the power from before, 'Final decision?' asked her gentle voice
'I pass my honour to another, let her take my place for me
From existence she was untimely ripped, she deserves it more than me'
'This is unknown' the power told me, 'You do not wish to return?'
'She had no choice' I explained to her, 'but it was my decision to burn'
'Very well' the angel smiled approval, 'I know she will be grateful...
For one who was once so very evil, I see no evidence you're hateful'
'Once I was out for all I could get', I said, 'but not anymore
I've done my time, now I want to help them, I told you, she deserves it more'
As I watched those down below us, I saw hugging, tears of joy
Knew Red would never be truly happy, with any other girl, or boy
You might wonder why I didn't send Anya, and it's not cos I hate the Whelp
I just figured the girl had clocked enough time, didn't think she'd want the help
But the Wiccans needed each other, I always wondered at their love
And I see that they'll always be happy, as I watch them from above

I made the right choice.
