Descent Into Darkness

As I fell downwards, my eyes clenched shut, my grip tightened about the Shikon no Tama. I feared that I would break my ankle when I hit the bottom if I remained stiff, so I relaxed my muscles. The air whipping about me was ice cold.

From my closed lids, I could see faint blue light. I wasn't sure if this was because I needed to breathe or if I had hit the bottom and was seeing stars or even if my mamá's tale was actually coming true. I was far too terrified to see for myself, so I shut them tighter.

Just as I started to be overcome with nausea, I realized that the falling sensation had ceased. Opening first one eye and then the other, I assessed my surroundings. Comprised mainly of wood, dirt and demon bones, the well stretched up towards a square of ionic blue sky. Quickly checking myself over for any injuries, I found none. I was covered in dust and scratches resulting from a tiff with mis hermanos earlier that day. Standing, I idly brushed myself off, contemplating how to scale my way to the top.

The only way to do so was by climbing.

I looked down at my outfit in dismay. A navy pleated school skirt wasn't appropriate for climbing, and a frost white tank would allow the sun's burning rays to darken my already tanned flesh. I was almost glad I decided to remove the stifling hot blouse, although it would have offered better protection. Either way, I had kept my running shoes which was a definite improvement over loafers (gag me!) in any case.

After a few minutes of work, I managed to escape my imprisoning well. I straitened up, looking about me. What I saw took my breath away.

A/N:

That's all for this chapter. I decided to move this fic from my school name to my personal name so I can cram a bunch of language, situations and violence into it. I promise, It gets good real soon. Yes, this is an OC, but hey, I'm sick of reading all the KagomeSesshomaru fics out there with InuYasha being mistreated. And besides, Kagome's too ditzy for me, no offense. I just think she could be a bit more… grounded, you know what I mean?

Anyways, look for the next installment!
