He had to say goodbye to another member of his family today.
Jack ignored the wake downstairs, instead sitting alone in his room.
"Colonel?" Sam moved from the door to sit next to him. She'd clearly been crying. "How are you feeling?"
"Like shit," he replied honestly. "Did Janet ever tell you that we were cousins?"
"It came up," Sam replied. "Can you tell me about her?"
He snorted. "You probably knew her better than I did, Carter."
"No. Tell me what she was like when she was little."
Jack sighed, but began. "I was twelve when she was born..."
