Hey, peoples! This is my first try at a Star Trek fic and also my first
crack at an Lord of the Rings fic as well, so be gentle with me. This is
meant to be entirely comedic which means that I'm not trying to insult the
characters of either genre. I don't own Star Trek or Lord of the Rings and
beyond that if you wanna sue me, the only thing I can pay you in is
paperclips so try it. I DARE ya!!! Mrowmrowmrow!!!! = ^,^=
The Enterprise's Yearly Play
Chapter 1 - The Cast List
Data walked down the halls of the Enterprise towards Ten Forward holding the cast list to this year's play in his hands. Data was always chosen as the Director for these plays due to his inability to be anything less than objective during auditions. Briefly he wondered if chosing Tolkien's Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring had been a good idea. He'd found the script for it while doing research on Felix the Cat in the hopes that perhaps he could train his own cat Spot to behave the same way. But he'd already had the auditions, so he knew that it was too late now to go back. The cast list was made up of the senior members of the crew. He just hoped that no one would be angry with his casting choices. He knew deep down that some people were going to make a fuss though.
He got to Ten Forward and nodded hello to Guinan who grinned and waved back. Then Data walked up to the crew's bulletin counsel and posted the cast list. Then he walked out again to go on duty.
Deanna Troi had been sitting in the back of Ten Forward where she was fairly certain that Data hadn't seen her. As soon as he went out the door, she was up and looking over the cast list. This is what she saw:

Molly O'Brien - Merry
Tasha Yar - Pippin
Guinan - Gandalf
Data - Legolas
Picard - Elrond
Beverly Crusher - Galadriel

Deanna Troi - Arwen
William T. Riker - Aragorn
Chief O'Brien - Boromir
Q - Sarumon
Geordi LaForge - Balrog
Thailog(from Gargoyles) - Lurts the Giant Evil Orc leader
Random Cardassians - The Orcs
Random Klingons - Cave Trolls
Random Romulans - Goblins
Random Vulcans - Elves
Random Borg - Ring Wraiths
Counselor Troi grinned mischieviously. She knew that a couple of people and Worf especially were going to be shall we say "slightly perturbed" at Data's casting, though she did have to admit that everyone fit into the parts given them extremely well. She knew that the next shift was almost over and the Captain would be coming in soon. She hid herself in the back again and waited for Picard to arrive.
Okay, that was my first chapter. Did I forget and characters from either series? Please tell me. Read and review pleeesh!!!!
