Thoughts While Watching a Left Hander

"You're right handed aren't you?"
Who?
I looked up from the parchment I had been writing gnome protests on.
It was Luna Lovegood, wearing a purple hat the shape of a jelly bean, and at the brim of the hat was her wand.
I could just imagine Hermione rolling her eyes and tutting if she was here.
"You didn't look like a left hander, you know. You don't act like one at least. I thought you were ambidextrous at first, but now I realize you're right handed, Ronald."
Ronald. Of course. She's always talking to him.
Ron looked horrified. His face in a 'Is-she-stalking-me?' sort of look.
"Err, g-g-good work, Luna," he said uncertainly.
Luna made her way back to her table, smiling, obviously proud of her accomplishment.
"Weird, she is," Ron muttered after she had left.
I didn't answer.
Instead, I looked over at the table where Luna was sitting and watched her. She took a long piece of parchment out and laid it down on the table. I could faintly hear her humming a song, apparently unknown to me. She took out a quill- a long quill with a mauve colored feather and began to write.
Left handed.
Her left hand moved across the page and her quill seemed to change colors with every movement. First mauve, and then into a neon green, and into gold, and orange, and..
Yes, definitely left handed.
She stopped writing finally after a few moments and held her head up with one hand.
She was looking at "Ronald" again.
She likes Ron.
I could see her watching him closely.
On her lips was formed a secret sort of smile. And her eyes seemed to scan him all over. Her mouth was open a little bit, as if contemplating something.
She looked hopeful, doubtful... serene.
Then, her eyes seemed to widen and her cheeks turned pink. She was blushing. I watch in bewilderment as she turned away her gaze and instead settled on her paper.
She began to write furiously.
Did she see me watching her?
I looked at my paper.
I saw a bunch of words that seemed to not make any sense to me.
I looked at my sneakers.
They looked dirty.
Anything that wasn't her, I was ready to settle my eyes on.
I glanced at Ron.
He was scribbling something down, his face scrunched up in frustration. He had loosened his tie apparently and unbuttoned the first few buttons of his shirt.
That's it.
I grinned. That's why Luna was blushing.
"This is tough stuff," Ron said, still writing on his paper. "Did you find out the name of that gnome with the whip? Bit mad, if you ask me."
"Err.." I looked down at my paper. "No."
Ron didn't seem to have heard me.
He was looking at the table where Luna was sitting. "She's a bit mad too."
No, she's not.
"Who?" I lied. I knew exactly who he was talking about.
"Loony," he said jokingly. "Luna, I mean."
I looked at him, deciding what to answer. "She's not so bad."
Ron snorted. "Sure, mate," and he returned to his paper.
Realizing I was barely close to being finished, I scribbled a few sentences down and checked a few facts up in a large leather bound book.
"Kind of hard without Hermione around," Ron said to me after a few minutes.
I looked up. He was frowning, and was scribbling something out on his essay.
"Yeah," I agreed. "You know she says she's not helping us anymore though.."
I didn't finish. My attention was once again captured by a certain blonde Ravenclaw.
She was back to staring at Ron again with the same dreamy expression I had seen her in earlier.
Wonder if she looks at me like that...
