When black clouds blow away

VIRGINIA

Mac was not in a good mood, she'd been woken up at 4:44 by the admiral who said he need to see her straight away. It turn out that she was being sent on a new case, two air force officers were being charged with fraternisation and their commanding officer had requested the best of the best. Though pleased she was considered the best, why he had to call that early she would never know, she'd hardly got any sleep. She would need to be on the 6 o'clock flight to Colorado Springs.

It was for this reason that she was currently stuck in traffic heading towards the airport. She was going to be later she thought as she checked the time, she was met to be meeting her partner Harm in 10 minutes and there was no way she was going to make it in time.

20 minutes later Mac entered the car park, quickly swinging into the first space available she grabbed her coat and bag and ran for the building as the rain started. Could this day get any worse she thought as she peeled off her coat which had done nothing to stop the rain stocking though to her skin.

Giving up on getting dry Mac headed towards the terminal where she was surpossed to meet Harm. Turning the corner she saw him, he was half way down the corridor looking very dry, dam him she though as she removed damp hair from in front of her eyes again. Trying to fix a smile on her face she approached him.

"What's the time Mac" Harm said his tell tale flyboy grin spreading across his face as he saw Mac's bedraggled state.

"I know, know I'm late, I'm never later, that's your job but seeing the day I'm having your lucky I'm here at all, I wouldn't be surprised if our flight got cancelled" Mac replied.

Lucky this did not happen and soon their flight was taking off, leaving the wet tarmac of Virginian behind them as they headed for Colorado Springs and the case which would change the way they looked at things for ever.

Flicking though the portfolio that she had been given in the admirals office Mac's attention was quickly drawn to the photo resting on the inside cover, it was a large ring, about two stores high made of what appeared to be stone. It was a Stargate, a vehicle to the stars.

First the Stargate had been used by the Ancients, its creators, till they left our sector of space and another race far more sinister and power-hunger and moved in on the Ancients territory. This race were parasitical by nature and took humans for hosts, spreading humans across the galaxy to serve them as Gods.

Landing in Colorado Springs Mac shut the file, trying to take in all she'd read as she moved off the plane. After searching for their luggage for an age Mac and Harm headed for the pick up point. There along with the taxi's was a black estate car with an airman standing by it, with their names on the card that he held.

"Are you the lawyers here to defend Major Carter and Colonel O'Neill, hope your good at what you do the base wouldn't be the same without there team" the airman spook as he opened the door for them before moving to take his seat up front.

"You know them" Harm questioned interested on learning more about their clients before they meet.
