The Son of Gondor -- Boromir's Epic
by baru-chan

********************

Many a night was the Younger plagued
By dreams that could not be explained.
No fool nor wiseman could explain from their land
So the Father made to send the Younger on an errand.

The Elder protested: "I could make the journey!"
The Younger responded:
"Yet who would defend Gondor? Not me!
Nay, my brother, that is your duty!"

The brothers turned to the Father and waited for judgement,
Who then would win this argument?
The Father agreed with the Younger:
"The Elder would stay with the Father!"

But Father's advice he did not heed,
The Elder swiftly went away on his steed.
Thusly for a hundred and ten days did he travel,
Searching for the Elven realm of Rivendell.

Author's Notes: So...what do you think? Should I continue this thing or delete it after a few
weeks of nobody responding to this? I've already written two stanzas of Part II and a stanza
somewhere near the end of the lay.... All you readers have to do is to tell me you read this
thing for me to update...

Author's Notes 2: This piece was inspired by the song found in Baylor's fic "Fate and the High
King's Falcon".
