The Highway
Disclaimer: I don't own the title RE, but I do own the title; "The Highway" (At least in this story!), the main characters' names, and perhaps a few others I may introduce. I own nothing that exists in the RE series, including the T-virus, William Birkin, Albert Wesker, Raccoon City, and pretty much everything you've already seen or heard from Capcom's 7+ main games so far. So there.
Prologue
'The Incident'. The name which many officials use to refer to the final three days of Raccoon City's existence. For some, it's all over and done. A mere memory. For yet others, it's the memory of a loss. For the majority of Raccoon City's residents, it was a bullet mercifully dodged. Either by death or voluntary exodus from the city, The Incident more or less wiped out the entire population in that horrific period.
But for a select few people, The Incident wasn't a name for an event that marked the end of a city. It was not only an event that forever altered the way they would go on living, it was also, for some, an event that prematurely ended them.
During the time of The Incident, some people lived, some died, some arose again, and then, sometimes shortly thereafter, died again. Some endured the event with company, in one form or another. Some endured it alone. But these five faced the terror from both ends of the spectrum. This is the record of the events which led to a turning point in their lives. A turning point which they will not soon forget.
The events of this story unfolded during the first night of the incident.
