Twas the Night Before Christmas-K & B style
Standard disclaimer.
Twas the night before Christamas and all through the Land.
Christmas was underway in Tokyo, Japan.
Kurama had a secret he wanted to tell.
To a certain Ferry-Girl we all know so well.
Gentle and caring, so joyful and free.
With a smile that would light up a Christmas Tree.
In the Reikai that same night, Botan bore no frown.
As she got into a beautiful snow white gown.
Tonight was the night, she had to tell him fast.
Or this day will gone like these three years past.
So many times she had tried and froze out of fear.
She steadfastly told herself, that wasn't going to happen this year.
She'd tell him she loved him.
Plain and simple as that.
She mounted her oar and landed on Genkai's welcome mat.
The party at 9:00 was well underway
As the minutes ticked closer to Christmas Day.
When Kurama, her eyes did espy.
Her hands grew cold and she didn't know why.
Her heart it beat faster and her breath cough in her throat.
Her imagination sprung up a fiery moat.
With a rickety bridge that spanned the divide.
The only way to reach her love on the other side.
"Botan, what is wrong?" Keiko did ask.
Diverting her attention, from the imaginary task.
"Botan, you look pale, and your face is looks sweaty.
Go freshen up, dinner is ready."
Botan smiled to show she was well,
Then wandered out side to be alone for a spell
Tears filled her eyes, as a voice filled her head.
~Give up! No one wants you, you're messenger of the dead~
She knew now the Ningan saying was true.
To love some one is easy but to say it is near impossible to do.
When low and behold there were footsteps behind her,
With a soft scent of roses to serve as identities reminder.
The kitsune sat beside her, with out a sound.
Much like the snow that was littering the ground.
He didn't look at her and seemingly spoke not a word.
Botan eyes brightened at something she heard.
It was too soft to hear but she knew it was him.
And she highly doubted he was out there on a whim.
"Kurama, my friend please speak that again.
For I hardly heard you and this party ends half past 10."
"I love you, Botan." Louder did he say.
He looked in her eyes as he said it and didn't look away.
"I've wanted to tell you, these three years past.
But every time I tried it was too much to ask."
"I love you too, Kurama." Botan did smile
A moment like this only came once in a while
"Is this all true?" Botan had to ask to be sure he didn't taunt her.
"Every word that I say." Kurama answered then kissed her.
Together forever and never to part
For the best Christmas gift is found in the heart.
