I know that my poems don't really seem like Pirate stuff but that is my inspiration. Captain Jack and the sea and ships are my muses (yeah yeah. Some freaked up mused right?)
Anywayz. Read on lovelys!

A Pirate's Life

As the early morning sun slowly begins
to peak over the silent, blue water,
my ears start to pick up on the sounds
made by the awakening crew.
I begin to feel the sweet morning sun on my face,
seeping in through the small open window of the cabin.
Upon opening my sleep filled eyes,
everything becomes more into focus as
the sleep from the previous night wears off.
Moving into a sitting position on the bed,
I place my feet onto the floor and start to rise.
Staying planted in that spot for a moment,
I raise my arms above my head
to stretch the stiff body parts.
At the same time I take in a deep breathe
of the fresh morning air,
wafting into the room from the open window.
Lowering my arms,
I begin to walk toward a closet
located in front of the bed and against the wall.
I open the doors and after a few seconds
of rummaging through the many clothes,
I throw some on;
not really caring whether they match or not.
When I find myself presentable enough,
I walk over and open the door leading out
of the cabin and into a short wooden hallway.
To my left is a stairway;
one leading to the main deck of the ship.
I climb the short stairway;
emerging to find a bright morning sky
greeting me warmly.
A smile forms on my lips,
and I instantly know that this day will be great.
Suddenly I find myself at the helm,
steering the graceful ship over the ocean water;
a smile still upon my face.
As I continue to steer the glorious ship,
the sound of a twittering bird brings me back to reality.
I look down to find that a sparrow
has landed on the wheel.
The smile on my face broadens on my features,
as if my whole face is radiating sheer happiness.
The sparrow looks up towards me;
and we stare at one another for only a second,
as if reading each other's thoughts.
We are both thinking the same thing;
this sparrow and I: land is near.
the tiny bird twitched its head,
bringing me out of my trance-like state.
The sparrow takes off as suddenly as if had arrived.
The small island begins to come into view,
and once again I have a smile on my face.
This life is for me.
