Birthday's & Midwives
Opening Scene: Luke's Diner-Rory and Lorelai are having dinner and
discussing Sookie's upcoming birthday.
R: Rory; L: Lorelai; Lu: Luke
R- "Given any thought to what we're getting Sookie for her birthday?"
L-"Yeah, a new midwife. One that doesn't think I'm a negative influence on
babies and baby mammas. Isn't the job of a midwife over when the pop tart
pops out of the toaster?
R- Disregarding her mothers fit of irritation with Sookie's midwife, Rory
says, "I was thinking something along the lines of a massage. She looks in
dire need of relaxation and TLC. Something that shouts luxury
L- "Does it have to shout? Can it just whimper, because I don't know if I
could afford 'shout' right now?"
R- "Yeah, next year, when the inns on its feet, we'll make it up to her
with something that bellows."
L- "Won't that wake up the baby?"
R- "What?"
L- "Ha! Stumped you! I have a great aptitude for bewildering. No one can
keep up with the master!"
R- "That's because you're unintelligible."
L- "Either way, I win."
R- "Congrats. Generally aren't parents suppose to let their kids win?
It's suppose to build self-confidence, or something like that."
L- "I never believed in that school of thought."
Enter Luke with food
Lu- " Here you go. Two double-cheese burger with cheesy chilli fries.
Double the cheese. Double the fries. Enjoy the heart-attack."
R- "Thanks Luke, but next time could you make patty beefier?"
L- " So Lukey, what are you getting Sookie?"
Lu- "I don't know. I'm not good with gifts. Maybe something for the kid."
L- "Wow, you really aren't good with gifts"
Lu- "What?"
L- "Nothing. Personally, I love receiving presents for Rory when its my
birthday."
R- "I like when that happens too"
Lu-"What? Kids are expensive-you know that. You can't have enough diapers,
right? I've heard they go through them like the two of you go through
strudels. That's why I can't have a kid."
R- "The diaper factor?"
Lu- "I hate diapers. But not so much as what's in them"
R- "Hey! Eating!
L- "Huggies will be so disappointed to hear that Luke. They were hoping to
make you there spokesperson"
R- "Oh no, who will they get to do the job now?"
Kirk: "Ahem, do you know how much the job
pays?"
