Disclaimer:

Anime15 here, as you probably have already guessed, I didn't write, create, or direct Neon Genesis Evangelion, Hideaki Anno and GAINAX did.

This is just an Evangelion FanFic I decided to write, it isn¹t much yet but I will be working on it when I get the chance, so I am not quite sure when I'll be done, hopefully not to long from now. I once wrote a somewhere around fifty page Eva FanFic, but didn't like where it was going so I stopped, this is my next attempt after two years without writing anything other than school papers and poems, so bear with me. This chapter is happening in the present, the rest of the story will be the past up until the point that I get to where this chapter leaves off.

Chapter 1- Munashisa (Emptiness)

Shinji Ikari stood on a mountain trail overlooking the vast populous of Tokyo-3. Sorrow filled his heart as he thought of the friends he had left behind, or rather, people who pretended to be his friends. Misato, Rei, Asuka, Touji, Kensuke, Pen Pen. All of these people he had at first thought cared about him, but now, in his eyes, they had proved that they were the same as every other person he had ever met in his life: just another being using him for nothing but their own personal delight, then throwing him away. He had had this feeling many times before, the feeling of emptiness, of something missing.

"They hate me, I am not needed anymore, I am useless."

He thought back to his father, and what he had said to him.

"I have no need for you anymore, you are dismissed from Tokyo-3 and NERV. And as for your 'friends', they have been put to other uses, and have informed me that they do not wish to see you again."

He had remembered thinking how absurd that sounded coming from a grown man, and called his father a liar, but that had only led to more anger, which ultimately resulted in his father lashing out and beating Shinji until all but his sight, and ability to breath had been rendered useless. He was kept in NERV Headquarters' intensive care, then, after he was strong enough to eat on his own, was moved to detention cells, where he stayed for a period of one week. The last thing his father did was handed him a piece of paper with the signatures of all of his "friends" stating that they wanted him to leave, that he was posing as nothing but a distraction.

"Now do you believe me?" Said Gendo in his usual monotone voice.

Shinji had just turned and left with his small duffel bag containing nothing but some spare clothes, food, and his SDAT player. He had just accepted what his father had said, and the more he thought about it, the more it all made sense.

It was a clear day, but clouds still hovered around his location. He felt the cool mist on his face as an early morning breeze passed him by. This soothed him a bit, and he gathered his thoughts. Taking one last look at the city that had been his home for so long, he started on his journey to Kyoto.

"They were using me to their own ends, and that's it, nothing more."

Well, there it is. I know it was short, but there will be more coming in the future! (More exciting stuff....) Like I said in the beginning, that was present, the rest of the story will be what happened up to this point, do you think that's a good idea? This is so short because it is only an intro, it was meant to get the point across, and to elaborate to a certain degree, but I wasn't going to make an introduction that was five pages long, (the first chapter however will probably be more than that).

Suggestions are welcome at eveen8814@yahoo.com, or you can just review it, that would be great, thanks!
