Opening her eyes Hermione Granger swatted away the small owl that had been bothering her for the last twenty minutes.
'Alright Pig! I'm up! Now stop moving so I can get the letter off your leg.'
Holding the letter up to her window so she could read it she nearly dropped it in shock. Just to make sure she had read it right the first time she read it out loud.
Hermione,
I feel like I should tell you that while we have known each other for six years I didn't realize that I loved you until this morning. I know that this seems sudden but if you would consider me as more than a friend, more like a boyfriend then I would be eternally happy. Please don't hold my younger indiscretions against me. I love you. I hope all is fine and your summer is going great. Please think about this I really meant what I said.

Oh Jesus, he thinks he loves me! But he's my friend, oh God what do I do! Deciding that she should ask the one person who could answer how Ron's mind worked and what she should do she had a letter set to go in a heartbeat.
'Oy! Pig come here! I want you to take this to Harry, do not I repeat do not go back to Ron.'
Watching the shadow of the small owl Hermione cried tears of confusion and pain. To love Ron would mean living a lie, but to refuse him would lose her a friendship spanning years of trust. Saying a small prayer she got dressed and headed about getting ready for her day.

Ronald Weasley, called Ron, paced his room in fits of frustration. It had been two days since he sent pig to Hermione's.
'Where is that bloody bird! It doesn't take this long to fly to Hermione's and back!'
Throwing Pig's cage against the wall earned him moans of protest for the ghoul in the attic. Hearing a soft timid tapping at then window he spun in hopes of it being Pig. Seeing Hedwig he groaned and let her in.
'I'm sorry Hedwig, I would let you eat Pig's food but...er...well I don't think it's there anymore.'
