Title: Back to Normal
It's been a week since Kyoto and everything is slowly getting back to normal.
This morning, I arrived late, and Tatsumi yelled at me, as he always does. A couple of hours later he saw me leaning back on my chair, looking at the ceiling in what I thought could be described as 'slacking off' and he patted my head and said "you're thinking too much". Then he offered me a donut, which I accepted happily. Sometimes I think he knows me better than he lets on.
Later, something blew up at Watari's lab, it was a nice distraction. When we asked what had happened, he cheerfully offered me a vial saying it was his last great invention. He refused to tell me what it was, so I, with a big smile, refused to drink it. He seemed disappointed for a fraction of a second, but then he walked to Tatsumi and offered it to him. For the public, it was all quite amusing.
Hisoka has been very quiet; it's like he wants to talk to me but doesn't know what to say. I decided that he needed a distraction so I dragged him to the movies, and I mean 'drag' literally. It was a great movie about cops and aliens and explosions. Hisoka fell asleep after the opening credits.
After the movie, I escorted him home while eating corn-pop and chatting about everything he had missed. He rolled his eyes and called me 'baka' a lot, which I took as a good sign. Then I made my way home.
I dropped my trench coat, took a bath and went to bed. And as I had done, every night for a week, I cried silent tears, pretending that if I didn't notice them, they'd go away.
Everything was slowly getting back to normal.
