Fear. Sadness. Anticipation. Hesitation. One foot moving slowly in front of the other. Emptiness. Shock. Relief. Weakness in the knees. Bewilderment. Anger. Michael. Curiosity. Swirling thoughts. An answer. Alicia. Overwhelming happiness. Joy.
I'll never forget that moment. That one defining moment when everything changed. I've never felt so many emotions coursing through my veins. It was over, we had won. I'd never felt so lucky in my life. I remember thinking I'd just won the lottery.
But really, what I remember, I mean really remember, was hearing those words. Those four little, powerful, words.
"They dropped the case."
