Oropher and his son Thranduil came to Greenwood hoping to find a home among the Silvan elves, but Eithryn, a rather uncooperative she-elf, isn't sure she wants her people in the hands of the Sindar. Thorin and Dwalin are joined by an Elder Woman at the Prancing Pony who tells the two Dwarves they will come across their soul mates in Rivendell. But one of them joins the company at The Prancing Pony, the other one joining when leaving Rivendell. All Thorin and Dwalin know is their lives, and the lives of the Company members, will never be the same due to the two women.

Its here he meets Nellie, a hopeless free-spirit who has no idea who he truly is, though it hardly matters as she has a secret of her own.
