A/N: This is my first dramatic fic for anything, let alone Yu Yu Hakusho. (It may not be very dramatic, but compared to all the random nonsense stuff I usually write, this is damn depressing.) Reviews are welcome, but please, GO EASY ON ME!

Disclaimer: I don't own Yu Yu Hakusho. If I did, then I would probably not be writing fanfiction....

~*~*~*~*~*~*~A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words ~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Yusuke sat in his throne. It was a deep red, covered with dust. He looked around the dark grey stone walls of the throne room. He sighed, and got up. He pulled a very worn piece of paper out of his jeans pocket and looked at it longingly. The edges where it had been unfolded and refolded so many times were worn, the picture faded.
It was a picture from what, 5 years ago? Maybe 6? Possibly, but no matter whether it had been 5 or something, it still felt like a hundred years since he had seen his friends.
He could remember when they took it like it was yesterday. It was sometime during the Dark Tournament, one of the few times nobody was actually thinking of fighting. He was grinning insanely, holding Kuwabara in a headlock. Kuwabara wasn't too happy about the situation, until he had seen a stray cat walk by, (who knows how it got there) so he was pointing at the cat while in the headlock.
Shizuru was next to Kuwabara, her hand half-covered her face in embarrassment that Kuwabara was related to her at the time. "If you're supposed to be a great fighter, Kuwabara, why do you get so easily distracted by cats?"
Boton was standing next to Shizuru, and she was waving happily at the camera, that innocent smile on her face. Yukina was next to her, happy, but not eccentric as Boton was.
Kurama was looking up at the tree, obviously trying to coax Hiei down for the picture. Hiei was looking the other way to the sky and completely ignoring Kurama, though his eyes were staring straight into the camera in suspicion.
Genkai was standing off to the side, her face was expressionless. Her hands were behind her back, as she usually stood.
Keiko was standing on Yusuke's right, trying to act mad or something, they had been in some fight, but she had that I'm-half-attemping-to-look- angry-with-you-but-I'm-really-about-to-start-laughing-my-head-off look on her face.
"Keiko..." Yusuke gently touched the picture lovingly as tears began to pool in his eyes. "I just want to see them again. I won't talk to them, because then it would be too hard to say goodbye again. I just need to know that they're okay."
He had swore he wouldn't cry. Not now. But he did.

me: wow. god I was DEPRESSED!!! Anyway, I'm not sure if I should continue this fic. I was thinking I could have Yusuke go and see how Keiko and Kuwabara were, but I'm not sure. TELL ME! ~shiny lights
