WHITE ARCANINE CHRONICLES 2
CHAPTER 1- THE AFTERMATH
I opened my eyes groggily to the grey skies and pouring rain. I had no idea how long I had been laying there, in the middle of the ruins. It could've been an hour, a day, a week or more. I groggily got to my feet, and looked around. I shook my still tatty mane, ridding it of a little water that had fallen from the skies.
I looked over to where spike had fallen. There were remnants of his skeleton, I noticed, as I squished through the mud over to his skeleton, strewn for meters in every direction. I dropped my head, a tear rolling down my face. He had deserved to be alive. Heck, anyone who was brought in there deserved to have lived and be free once more.
I gently nosed one of his neck armour plates, saying my goodbyes. Then, I backed away, and went looking for the nearest shelter from the rain. I found it in a densely foliaged bush. I struggled to get into the core, but when I did, I found it spacious and dry. It was quite warm as well. (A/N: 'tis a secret base!) I peered around, and noticed another pokemon in the corner, looking at me. Its expression was that of gratitude, I realised, as the pokemon, a Charmeleon, with a black belly and minute wings, came closer.
"You saved us." It said, in its native tongue.
I looked at it for a moment, and replied. "It was the least I could do," I moved a bit closer, and sat down in front of him, as he lowered himself to the floor. "How long was I out of it for, anyway?"
"Just over three days. One of us," he said, and I realised he meant the pokemon I had released, "we stood guard over you and the groudon, to ward off any Mightyena or Absol pack looking for an easy meal.
"You did that? For me?" I asked him, with a half-smile on my face.
"Sure. You released us, so why not help you out?"
I smiled to myself, knowing I would never forget their kindness. I moved over to the leafy wall, and looked out through a small hole at the bleak landscape.
"Where are the others?" I asked him, glancing sideways and seeing him beside me.
"They left when you started to stir."
"Fair enough."
"I, too, must leave you now. I go to find my place in the world, and I hope you find your place, too." With that, he struggled through the leafy wall and melted into the bush.
I went to the middle of the room, thinking about what I should do, now that the danger was over. As I curled up into a dirty white ball, the answer came to me. Go home.
Well, watcha think? Short? Well its allowed to be! Umm.. R&R, or I shall have ye guts for garters. ( Cya, peoples!
