Windblown Kiss

Sakura loves Sasuke...and Ino watches
It takes great stamina to project one's spirit over a long distance, so that it
can fly amid the clouds like a ghost. Ino liked to find a comfortable perch in
a tree, and allow her soul to drift upon the wind over the Hidden Leaf, a
formless phantom that no one sees.
It was better this way; no need to dish out mundane small talks and insincere
greetings. She felt enigmatic and strangely powerful to be able to see without
being seen. There was something about knowing secrets that thrilled her. Lies,
whispers, and side-ways glances fluttered like flimsy paper butterflies as she
gathered them in.
She often watched Sakura, wanting to collect her secrets like intricate
trinkets to hide in her jewelry box. Sometimes she'd pushed her body to the
limit just to remain for hours in Sakura's backyard, watching her through the
polished glass window. She was mesmerized by Sakura's fine bones and
slenderness, and was mildly ashamed when the dry heat creeped through her body
as she watched Sakura smiled into space. She wanted to know more than
anything...if Sakura really loved Sasuke.
It was that one sultry afternoon when Ino did something stupid.
When she arrived to her usual haunt, she found them standing close, speaking in
whispers, not wanting to raise their voices in the stifling weather. Ino
watched as sweat glistened on Sakura's pale skin, so that she shimmered like
pearl dust. She felt her heart tighten as Sakura's soft doe-eyes shone bright
with desire. Without meaning to, Ino surged towards Sasuke's back, and felt
herself intertwine with his soul like a thousand tiny tendrils of light...she
let the momentum of her spirit push forward, and crushed his/her lips against
Sakura's half-open mouth.
