And it's actually Portal fanfic, its own archive being a frontier town as it started and likely published among Half-Life fics for a wider readership. This Roxius short had been just been caught recently and released back here. This was long after Team Fortress 2 and its own archive barely established on FFN. This was apparently before the infamous "Meet the Pyro" trailer and he tweaked the formula on this one.

Strange and unremitting dreams, an unearthly figure in a blue suit and briefcase, a mysterious crystal of unknown origin, and the prospect of a cataclysmic quantum event that seems impossible to avoid. Experience the catastrophe of the Black Mesa incident from the perspective of Eli and Alyx Vance as they do all they can to escape a facility where all hell has broken loose.

Following the Seven Hour war manpower is in great need for the Universal Unions establishment on Earth. Told as a form of personal diary from the perspective of "PFC Taylor Davis" we follow 1st Brigade, 2nd Squads lives under Combine rule - and defying the odds to remain alive if only to collect on that money owed from 5th Squad and live to see another card game.

Eli is dead. Gordon's awake, slave to a man who seeks to capitalize on old debts from Black Mesa. And caught in the crosshairs, Alyx struggles to keep the Resistance alive long enough to recover Dr. Mossman and locate the Borealis. Sequel to "Something Secret Steers Us." WIP.
