It was a day before Christmas and Helga was cleaning out her room,
throwing away her poems. She wanted to start writing more. Suddenly, the
phone rang.
"WHAT!?!?!?" Helga yelled. It was Gerald.
"Do you know where Ashanti went we were on a date and then."
And with that Helga hung up. "He's probably going crazy!" she said aloud.
Helga got in to school late when she heard Arnold's voice. ".So I am moving after New Years Eve." he said. Helga was very sad when she heard him say that. Arnold walked by Helga and Gerald pretending he didn't see her, talking to Gerald. "My New Years Eve party is gonna be da bomb!" Gerald exclaimed. "Move it, morons! Does your party have hip-hop music?" she asked. "YEA!!" "Does your living room have posters of Ashanti and Alicia Keys???" "YEA!!" "Are you planning on playing video games?" "YEA!!" "Then your party will stink!" Gerald handed her an invite anyways.
"Arnold, want to come over my house to plan for my party?" Gerald asked. "Sure!" he replied. "I can't wait for our play to start!" Phoebe exclaimed.
They all were getting ready for the play that the third graders and fifth graders were watching. Gerald jumped on stage rapping to "In Da Club". "HEY GERALDO THAT'S NOT IN THE SCRIPT!!!!" yelled Helga. Gerald blushed. Arnold ran him off stage and started reciting his lines.
"That was horrible acting, Arnold!" said Helga. Arnold stared at the ground and he walked towards Gerald's house. "Hey, whatcha wanna do? Listen to music, watch a movie, or read magazines?!?!" Gerald said. "I'd rather just help you with plans for your party." Arnold said. "Okay, we'll listen to Eve!" Gerald decided. Arnold just rolled his eyes.
Helga was looking through Gerald's window, eavesdropping on Arnold.and Gerald.but mostly Arnold. Gerald suggested they go ride their bikes down the park so Helga opened the window and changed the music to Evanescence. As she heard them blabbing and coming up the stairs she starred straight at the door, turned back on his hip-hop and hid behind the couch.
As it got late, her mother stopped by beeping the horn on her car a million times! She didn't even know that her mother would think she'd be at Gerald's. She quietly and quickly rushed out and into her mom's car.
Helga would usually help her mom setup the tree, but she didn't. Instead, she felt sick. She'd thrown up and probably because she was sad. Arnold also felt sick, he was upset that he'd move to another state and leave his friends behind---especially Lila. Arnold would always help setup the tree. Helga spent all day in her room writing poems. Knock, knock-she heard. She thought it was the Monica's new song from a car passing by outside-she said to herself I HATE THAT SONG!! She opened the window and said, "SHUT UP!!!!!!". A bird pooped right on her head when she realized it was only her mother knocking at her door. That was it-she was going crazy.
Arnold puked. He called up Lila. "Hi Lila. Do you want to go to the party with me on New Years Eve?" he asked. "No thanks, Arnold, I don't like you, like you, I just." And with that he hung up on her. He ran all the way to her house. When he got there.he threw his bear Lila bought him at her. Lila just stared at him and started to say "I'm ever so." And with that he slammed the door closed and left in the cold snow. Lila tried calling him again when he got home but he wouldn't answer. He'd just sit there next to the phone, waiting for her to give up.
Arnold and Helga both got dumb gifts for Christmas that night. Usually Arnold wolud appreciate it but he just couldn't. Lila couldn't either. Gerald called Arnold and they talked more about the party he was planning. Helga rode past Arnold's house that night and threw a pebble at his window. She rang his doorbell and ran before he answered, she couldn't talk to him at all. She just put on rock music very loudly outside his house. He didn't look.
