This is AU. Karen has nothing to do with Broadway and is instead a Grammy winning singer. She runs into the dashingly handsome director of Bombshell at an event she won't be forgetting any time soon.

A few scenes from Smash given new perspective from my eyes. Where this will lead, who knows, but hopefully to a happy ending for Julia Huston and Michael Swift :)

After the Bombshell premiere, Karen and Ivy's lives take a completely unexpected turn.

Even as the curtain falls, things are still happening onstage. And even when the show seems over, it never truly is. Smash is supposedly done, but if I have my way, it most assuredly is not!

The story of the conversations had over the course of Smash which we never got to see, as told (mostly) by Bobby and Jessica, with the help of Kyle and Tom. There is drama, romance, fluff and friendship, and almost all of the show's characters make cameos, as do several several romantic pairings, and some unexpected friendships. This is Smash, but seen from a different perspective.

After Kyle finally resolved to give up on Jimmy for good, his actions led to his death later that night, leaving no one the chance to say goodbye. This story begins with that moment of final resolve, filling in the missing scenes later that night, a large "what-if", and the aftermath of that change. AU, WHUMP!, and lots of Tom/Kyle shipping and POV.

"Don't leave because of this. We'll figure it out." "That's the thing, I don't want to." A pause. "I'd rather be unemployed than work for you anymore." A beat. "Take care, Tom." A fix-it of the scene in Season 2 Episode 11, The Dress Rehearsal, where Sam tells Tom he's quitting, after that night's preview is done. /one-shot, complete/ (also on Archive of our Own)

After being Marilyn for the first time Karen, longing to be alone arrives at her hotel only to find someone waiting for her. Set just after the Season One Finale.

Karen is young, and slightly wild, living in New York city trying to make it as an actress. She is struggling in her career, making a mess of her relationships and trying desperately to free herself from a past that she just can't seem to shake. Throw in Derek Wills, a highly coverted, rather obnoxious, director seeking a project to boost his career and get him out of a rut. OOC

Kyle and Jimmy move in across the hall from Ana and Karen. (Or the one where I write all the AU drabble prompts into one story.)

What if Jimmy had followed Kyle? Following the story if Jimmy was hit by the car, savingKyle, but didn't die. He goes to hospital but since he doesn't have a social security number or insurance, Kyle tells the hospital Jimmy is him, so the hospital tells friends that Kyle has been injured. I'd like to hope the story is better than this awful description so please read!

As Ivy's due date nears, will it be fourth time lucky?

A pregnant Ivy Lynn's last night on Bombshell and the behaviour of two of the key men in her life post-show.

College AU. Karen and Ana are performing arts majors who meet Kyle in a horrendous required English class. Through Kyle they meet his roommate, Jimmy- a part time student/ part time bartender and the four quickly become good friends. Karaoke and a bar napkin will change everything.

Another man was in a car accident the same night as Kyle and the hospital accidently switched their records. Kyle is still unconscious so the mistake isn't found until his parents arrive to identify the body. Until then, everyone thinks Kyle is dead. Canon through 214, then AU. What might have been for Tom x Kyle.

Post 2x17. A look of what happened years ahead of when the show ended. Julia and Michael take the kids on a trip, in hopes of getting Artie's mind off the fact his mother is getting married again, until they find out he has other plans. Sorry about sucky summary, story is better!

My take of some canon and non-canon things about Smash season 1.

Ivy loses her role as Marilyn Monroe in Bombshell and has to face the reality that if she isn't Marilyn Monroe, then who is she?

Kyle wasn't killed by a car but he is hurt badly. Tom is worried and takes it upon himself to help him.

Tom's over protectiveness leads to a whole lot of confusion. Derek/Ivy

Season 2 of Smash as told by Karen and Jimmy. The story follows the show to start, but in later chapters deviates significantly. (Less character assassination of Jimmy for the sake of drama- more continuing the character development they backpedaled on. Don't get me wrong- he's still not perfect- but many writing choices in the last third of the season irritated me.)

What if Julia never showed for the Houston-Levitt night? A last, heartbroken solo from Tom ends the night ensuring him the director votes, but does he even want it anymore, having lost so many friendships in the past year? And when he disappears, what will those responsible do to find Tom and make things right? No relationships, just a bit of Tom/Derek friendship musings.
