Author's Note: A companion poem to "Lament of an Archangel." This poem is written from the point of view of Uriel, who witnesses Gabriel's banishment and his return to glory. I have all of this in the prologue of my original story so if anyone wants to see it, you're welcome, just drop me an email. The Rise of the Fallen

I saw him fall from Heaven's grace,

His light has vanished in the void.

Among us he has lost his place,

And with his leave we are destroyed.

For many ages, long and gray,

I watched him walk the empty earth.

His spirit seamed to fall astray,

But there is yet hope of rebirth.

And now with final battle fought,

Both friend and foe have fallen dead.

I see him in destruction wrought,

His wings of silver left unspread.

His fire shall return to him,

Old wounds will heal once free of guise.

Not ever shall his splendor dim,

I watch him to the sky arise.
