Boba Fett

His Path of Secrets

I've known Boba Fett for a while now, yet I'm not quite sure how long. I might have known him years, but I still don't know more now than in the first five minutes we met. Boba is not the type to share secrets, and keeps most (if not all) his thoughts to himself. Hidden underneath his tough battle helmet, in the complex web of his stealthy mind, lies a painful childhood.

Not many know who Boba Fett is, or where he came from. Some say he was an ex-Mandalorian officer named Jaster Mareel, a peacekeeper of sorts before falling renegade and resorting to bounty hunting. Others say he's a technologically advanced android. Some think of him as a cloned Jedi Knight from the Old Republic. But there's only one truth to his dark roots.

He grew up by himself on the rainy alien planet Kamino. Life for Boba was lonely for, besides his father Jango, he had no friends or known relations. The Galaxy's most feared underworld assassin spent his early childhood in a Spartan apartment, amusing himself with books and studies.

Visually, his appearance is striking. Boba Fett is almost 5'8, and weighs around 180 lbs. without his battle armor; with it, he's 195. That's light, considering the fact that Boba bristles with lethal weaponry of every sort. Mounted on his back is an armored jetpack. His wrist gauntlets contain poison darts, a whipcord, and a battle knife; some of these experienced firsthand. I'm certain that at least a dozen more gadgets lie within the wrist gauntlets.

Most important of all is the Mandalorian battle helmet, which Boba wears always, sometimes even when sleeping. Only two to three people in the entire Galaxy have seen have seen Fett without his mask-like tool. Underneath it lie keen black eyes, black combed-back bangs, and light tan skin. His voice with the helmet is an electronically filtered hiss, although he never talks long before his voice grows hoarse.

All know he's a bounty hunter, and I have yet to come across one who doesn't know him, or of him. He's a ruthless professional at his job, but I wouldn't classify him as murderer. He has a code of honor – one that works in his favor, mostly, but still – a moral code. I can only guess the principles, for no one knows for sure

Fett spent nine years on Kamino, ten maybe, before complex events led to his father's death on the dusty planet Geonosis – at the hands of a merciless Jedi Master, leaving Boba suddenly alone in the Galaxy.

The rest of his past is yet to be revealed. I don't know it, nobody know it. The last contact was predictably far before my time, and has either been killed or bribed into silence by now. If my searches for his mysterious past run too deep, I may be next.

What I'm relaying here is mostly common information. A few pieces were hunted out in the underbelly of Coruscant in dim bars and clubs. And even though I've been allied with him for some time, it's almost as if I know of him. He's very secretive, and that's a trait that neither I, nor anyone in the Galaxy, could break.
