At last! Time to write again. A short one while I get into the tap of things again. This has been long time coming, hope you enjoy it! R&R, please. Feedback is always welcome!

The boys had settled into their beds. They had spent the day hiking through the woods are were all exhausted from carrying "surprise" packs for several hours and were more than a little annoyed when they contained a meagre lunch of soggy sandwiches and re-fills for their water bottles. The weight they had lugged through the trees was made up by weights. There had been some hidden message in their hike, but ten hours later, they were still clueless to what it was.
Even Scott, known for his sneaking away before bedtime was tucked in his bed. He was waiting for the lights to go out while the more energetic young men brushed their teeth.
Ezra was lying under his covers, facing the wall. He hadn't moved for several minutes and Scott suspected him to be asleep. Scott relaxed under the covers and snuggled into the bed he had grown to love. Soon he was purring in his sleep, perhaps dreaming of Shelby, but more likely to be passed out in dreamless slumber.
David got into his bed without speaking and rolled over several times, got up to go to the toilet and returned, flopping onto his bed, making it crack as his weight hit it. No one looked up or gave comment. He ruffled his pillows and lay his head down.
Auggie was last to climb into bed. He had ten a long shower and still had damp hair. He left his towel on the ground and pulled on his creased boxers. He let out a few grunts as he fell asleep, ignoring David's violent twitching and soon all was silent.
Only Ezra lay awake, listening to the crickets. They chirped and gurgled in a glorious symphony. Now and then a bird called or a frog croaked. But there was something else, a less peaceful sound, an annoying and insistent drip, drip, drip. Not the comforting sound of rainwater in a drain, no, this sound was regular for the entire twenty minutes he lay listening to it.
Drip, pause, a tiny splash, then silence. Drip, drip, drip, splosh, silence. Then a series of faster drips, faster slashes then silence. Ezra rolled over; hoping someone else would get up to make it end. When no one got up, he threw back his covers and stood up, hand on his hips.
His roommates could sleep through the cabin falling down. He was cursed with light sleep, and took ages to fall asleep. He stomped to the bathroom and switched on the light. He was momentarily blinded, but knew his way to the culprit. The rusty showerhead with tight taps. He stood barefoot in the puddle left by Auggie and the cursed dripping. He twisted the tap, but it didn't budge. He stepped closer, gripped it in two hands and turned with all his strength. It budged just enough to silence the noise. He felt proud of his efforts and went back into the bedroom, switching off the light as he went.
He got into bed and pulled the covers over his head. He still heard the crickets outside and then David's voice. "Thanks, Ezra."
