"We'll find it together," he had promised. Together. The word echoed in Aeryn's head. That is how had been from the first day to the very end they had been together. Even when separated he was always with her in her heart. Over the time and events of their lives, her memories now seemed thoroughly muddled with pain and lose; one thing did stand out distinctly. Love. She recalled quite clearly they had grown closer and closer resolving their differences, making the promise that they would do whatever it took for them to hang onto each other to the bitter end. It suddenly came to her-- in the end he had held onto her hand. The hand that bore the ring he had so lovingly placed there, "With this ring I thee wed...until death do use part." A single tear traced down her cheek at the memory. "I love you beyond life and hope," he said as the last breath left his body.

All of his friends and family had gathered around sharing in the passing of a great man, friend, and loved one.

For the first time that day Aeryn sat alone. As she gazes out into space, she reaches out letting her fingers trace down the clear surface of Moya's bay window. Starlight, star-bright, what I wish tonight, or something liked that. A half broken laugh escaped her lips, as the tears once more fell down her cheeks. How she wished she could go back in time. Sixty cycles ...how could it have passed so fast? The large diamond flickered in the light catching her eye. John had given her the rings of his mother. She remembered him referring the large stone as a piece of their guiding star.

Lowering her hand into her lap she moved the ring in the light causing it to twinkle. John had pulled out the rings and shown them to her, speaking of what they represent as testimony to the universe of the great love they had for each other.

She looked up as soft footsteps came closer. Joyner their beautiful daughter along with her brothers Jack and Talyn stood before her looking so lost. Aeryn reached out her hands and they joined their mother hugging her close. No words had to be spoken, only the comfort of shared lose. Aeryn felt pride over their greatest achievement -the beautiful children born from their love.

"Yes, my love, to the day I join you I will always keep that piece of our guiding star with me," Aeryn whispers, as she gazed out at their guiding star.
