Disclaimer: None of the characters belong to me; the song "Behind Blue Eyes" belongs to The Who.

A/N: Set after "The Kids Stay in the Picture" but before the one where Shelby tells Scott what really happened with her stepfather and on the streets. I can't really write poetry but I thought I'd give it another try; this one isn't as good as the first poem I wrote about Shelby. Told in her POV of course.

"Behind Blue Eyes"

No one knows what I feel inside

The pain I feel behind the lies

Getting past the hurt, I've tried

But I still hide my pain behind blue eyes

No one knows how to understand

What I hide behind the smoke.

No one knows how much safer it is to play the bad man

The nightmare that's real even after I've woke

No one knows what it's like to be hated

Just to keep the secrets buried

No one knows what it's like to be fated

To have secrets that must always be carried

Secrets kept are better then the looks I'd get

If I ever let the truth be known

Ashamed, abandoned once again

Forsaken by the one I love, left alone

No one knows what it's like to feel this way

Shrouded in secrets to keep hide the lies

To keep the one with me that helps me through the day

No one knows how it feels to be dying inside,

Behind blue eyes
