For a fleeting moment in the movie, Éowyn seemed mesmerized by Grima, and I wondered what she could be thinking. Miranda Otto commented on that she liked how he could seem seductive to her, and I had to agree.

As some of you may know, there is something that draws parts of us to darkness, if even for a moment. Something that makes us wonder what it might be like to touch it, and give into it; and even though it was only a movie moment, It made me think of this poem from Éowyns POV.

-

You're a storm, and I seek shelter,
and you are wreched in my memory;
I'm attracted to your lightning
though I am bound by position.

You're a storm and I am calm,
and I am drawn because I'm bound;
wandering lost among your pyres,
looking in at perdition.

You're a storm and I am part of this,
and I lay between your jagged wings,
and I reach into cloud, black coal and soot;
peace through dim cognition.
