*One Shot* (ie. I'm not gonna continue this,so don't ask)

A/N: R&R!!!

Disclaimer: I don't own InuYasha, so quit stalking my home!

It was a usual day for the group. They were hanging around a small fishing village, listening for rumors of miss-behaving youkai. Miroku kept stealing longing glances at Sango. Eventually, she noticed, and asked, "What are you doing Houshi-sama?! You'd better not be thinking any of those perverted thoughts of yours!"

He turned his head away, without even a comeback. Sango gave him a weird look, but decided it was better no to ask.

They kept on walking through the town without hearing anything suspicious. After a while, the group came to a cliff with a path up the side. At the top, there was another path along the edge of the cliff, with more really high cliffs on the other side. They had no choice but to walk on the path.

The group had been walking single-file for a while when suddenly, the part Sango was walking on sort of. disappeared. She screamed. Quickly, Miroku ran to where she was holding onto the ledge, and tried to pull her up. This was very hard, as he was only using his good hand. He didn't dare use the hand with the air rip.

"Houshi sama! I can't hold on!"

"Please, just try!!"

"I can't!" She screamed as she fell to the rocks below.

Miroku silently got up, and stood with his toes hanging off the edge. He looked down at Sango's mangled body, and leaned foreward over the cliff. He fell, waiting for the soft biss, death. Maybe they could be together in the next life. (where have we heard that before?)

Falling. falling. falling. right before he hit the ground, he woke up.

"Ahhhhhh!!" He gasped, looking around the campsite, looking for Sango. There she was, sleeping against a tree. He slowly rose to his feet, and walked over to where the taiji-ya was sleeping. Miroku knelt down and touched her cheek, just to make sure she was real. She awoke from the slight touch, her eyes fluttering open.

"Houshi-sama, what's wrong?"

He pressed his lips to hers, and quickly pulled away. "Sango. I apologize. I had no right to do that."

Sango looked at his face in surprise. "Why are you crying?"

He just looked away.

"Houshi-sama?"

"I don't want to lose you. I."

She looked at him with an inquisitive look in her eyes.

"It's nothing. I'm sorry." He got up and walked into the forest, Sango staring sadly after.

After a long walk in the woods, Miroku heard a rustling. He turned to look at it, and felt a pain in between his shoulder blades. The Houshi turned back around, and he barely had time to think before the creature slashed at his chest.

"Houshi-sama! Where are you?!" Sango had been looking for Miroku for nearly thirty minutes when she heard a coughing sound. She cautiously walked to where the sound was coming from. When she got there she let out a small gasp, and ran to where Miroku was laying on the ground, half his body bloody from the slash on his right shoulder. His eyes fluttered open when he heard her coming.

"Sango. don't come. trap. I love-" He coughed up blood, and lay silent.

"Houshi-sama?! MIROKU!!! Don't die. please." She stood, tears pouring down her cheeks, when suddenly, a claw went through her heart.
