In defence of the wolf.
"It is, of course, a very well known fact that wolves eat little girls and grandmothers. The problem is that for some reason they seem to have built up quite a bad name for themselves accounting to this unfortunate habit.
If a wolf were in a wood and he happened to see a little girl dressed in red skipping down the path towards him, it is the only gentlemanly thing to do to talk with the young lady.
A wolf may forget his shocking appearance for a few moments as he steps out of the forest towards the girl, as he has not looking a mirror for a good long time.
The girl however, is not seemingly taken aback (this leads to the questioning of the girl's state of mind - her lack of the understanding of the danger she is in, makes her, in my view, an easy target).
Mr Wolf can think of nothing to do but politely ask the girl where she is heading - I think that you would have done the same, and it is my understanding that Little Red answered without heed.
Now, the court should know that Mr Wolf has regularly been attending meetings to help him quit his addition of girls and grandmothers at the GGEA (Girl and Grandmother Eater's Anonymous). At this point in the tale he was well on his way to kicking the habit, and was even about ready to come of the patches and gum.
However, despite all the big eyes and big teeth, Little Red failed to see the precariousness of her situation. And so, your honour, if she had not been such an easy and juicy looking meal, my client Mr Wolf, would not have been so sorely tempted by her, and this whole incident could well have been avoided.
I rest my case."
