Jonouchi was lonely. He wouldn't admit it, of course, but he was. His
dad was out for the night, nobody sane was up this late, and the
patter of the sprinking rain served only to increase the depressed
atmosphere. As he watched the soft rain bead and fall on the window
glass, he pondered the wisdom of walking tonight. Eyes passing over
the dimly lit apartment, his decision was made. He took his jacket,
and walked out the door.

With a sigh, he pushed his hands deep in his pockets, staring up at
the dim stars. Rain fell like soft tears over his face, ghosting over
his skin like a child's kiss, or the touch of sunlight. With a sudden
smile, he stuck out his tongue, catching a few slight drops in his
mouth and laughing like a young boy, sparkles in his eyes and hair.

Still smiling, he mounted a rise to the local park. He'd been waking
here since he moved in, and still loved to sit on the hill, and be
alone. The spot at the base of the watchtower was his favorite, and
his destination tonight.

A smile became a frown as he became aware of another's presence.

He stood, unsure what to do, unmoving and silent.

The figure rose, and Jou's frown deepened, taking in the blue duster,
serving to compliment the blue eyes and dark hair of Seto Kaiba.

He prepared a verbal assault as the taller boy came close, narrowing
the distance to inches in a moment.

Jou's voice was stopped before it started, by a finger on his lips, a
ghosting of breath on his ear. Kaiba's voice came as a sound on a
breeze, and was gone.

'Silence, puppy. The moon is on the rise.'

Jou stood in wonder, wide eyes locked to the genuine smile on his
rival's face.

The boys sat in the rain, and watched the night come alive.
