The Discovery
Jaime walks in
"Mom you just miss a phone call"
"Who was it?"
"Doctor Martin"
"Doctor Martin?"
"Yeah"
"Ok. Get ready for school"
"Ok"
Jaime waits for the kids to leave to call back the doctor. "Hi. I can please talk to Doctor. Martin? This is Jaime Carter. Hi Doctor Martin" Jaime pauses for a couple of seconds "Leukemia? Thank you Doctor. Martin" Jaime just stands there until Landon comes in
"Hey whats up?"
"I just spoke to the doctor"
"Whats wrong?"
"I have leukemia"
"Leukemia?"
"Yeah"
Landon hugs Jamie. "What are we going to do?"
"Landon I want to be honest with you. I don't want more treatment. We did it so many times but it just keeps on coming back"
"If that's what you want?"
"That's what I want"
"Ok"
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"But I want to tell the kids"
"That's fine"
"I want to tell them all even if Justin can't understand"
"That's fine"
"I cant image what gonna happen to their lives"
"I cant either. But we will get through it"
