[Rex Rodentium's Notes: This has been in the works for over... *counts on
fingers by school grades* 4 or more years! Ha! 4 or more years! Probably
longer than half of you have been reading/writing fan fiction! That means
my idea is original, just posted late. XP))
The Real Legend

Prologue: In The Forest
A women stepped out or a blue swirling portal on the ground. A man stood in the portal. He seemed to be waiting on the woman. Both were in their late teens. They both wore black suits with a bright red "R" on them. The woman placed a bundle wrapped in blankets with a pin attached, with only two words written, on to a stump in the middle of the Lost Woods. She then ran back to the swirling portal, never to be seen again.
Three skullkids ran up. The tallest of the three signaled for them to stop.
"What is is Raydoe?" the shortest one asked.
The tallest skullkid, who went by the name Raydoe, carefully unpinned the piece of paper.
"It's a 'Leila'." Raydoe said ignoring the second word. He stuck the piece of paper in his pocket, "Whatever that is."
"What else does it say?" the the other skullkid asked.
"Nothing, Mesoe." Raydoe lied sticking the note into one of his pockets.
"Are you sure?" the shortest one asked.
"I'm positive, Latee."
The three skullkids unwrapped the child carefully. The baby had dark brown eyes, unlike the blue eyes most Hylian babies had, and a few small tufts of hair which looked like dark brown colored duck fluff. It looked at them and smiled a toothless grin.
"I think it's a girl." Mesoe said noticing the petite purple dress that covered her legs and bare feet.
"How do you know it's a girl?" Latee asked.
"I'm a girl for Din's sake! I know a girl when I see one. Plus, she's wearing a dress."
"She not an it. She's Leila." Raydoe said gently taking the baby into his arms.
"What are you doing?!" Mesoe exclaimed.
"Shhhhhh!" Raydoe hushed as he rocked the infant back and forth, "I'm trying to get her to fall asleep."
Mesoe and Latee watched in awe as Leila became sleepy by the soothing rocking motion. Minutes later, the child was sound asleep, sucking on it's tiny thumb.
"She's a pretty good sized kid for how old she seems to be." Raydoe commented as he continued to rock the child.
"How old would that be?" the shortest skullkid asked.
"I'm guessing a little less than a week old."
"Are you crazy!" Mesoe said quietly, yet forcefully, "Are you actually thinking about raising this kid?"
"I'm not thinking about it, Mesoe, I am going to raise this child. When she is old enough she can live with the Koriki. And when the time is right, I will tell her the truth about her past." Raydoe said and gently laid her down on the stump.
Little did Raydoe know that this child was special. She would do many great things. There was an unforeseen power she seemed to possess. Nobody knew, or would know, not even the child herself, the secret that laid inside her. A secret that would change not only the Lost Woods, but the whole world of Hyrule forever.
Please review. It will tell me when to do a bit at a time, and when to kick into full gear when it comes to typing up the next chapter.
