Pietro and Rogue found themselves sitting on opposite sides of the classroom, every now and than looking towards each other's direction. It was utter torment to be so far away from each other.
They hadn't meant to fall in love but it seemed as if fate had chosen to touch their hearts and lean them towards one another. They thought of those stolen moments at night. Those times when everyone was too busy and didn't question nor care what the other members of their teams were doing.
Rogue bit her lower lip as the tears threatened to spill. She longed to just run away, to escape everyone and everything that held them back, the fact that they were enemies, his father, their team mates and especially Mystique.
She wanted to separate them at all cost. She didn't want her daughter with Magneto's son. When class was over they both walked out not saying a word, they barely even glanced at each other.
Later on that evening, Rogue found herself at the fountain. She felt his presence before he even spoke. She smelled the familiarity of his scent.
"I'm here," he said. She turned around and fell into his arms, their words spoken quickly and their rapid kisses given desperately as they shared their emotions by their lips.
"Ah need to get away. Ah need to be with you." Her voice was full of anxiety and longing. She found no way out, she needed him and loved him and longed to be with him .
Her days were becoming a blur and like an addict she thrived for the moment that she could get her fix. Pietro's time slowly went by, it was torturous to be near her and not be able to touch her the way he wanted to because of their secrecy.
"Take me away," she whispered. Pietro stared down at her and thought of the consequences of them leaving at that time, were they were needed so crucially. He swept her up into his arms; he kissed her lightly on her forehead and looked at the horizon. He began to run, going anyplace, anywhere.
