Jonas was felling aprehensive yet again, like he was before
the ceromony of twelve, he could not wait until the time when him
and Gabe would the bottem of the hill. "Gabe," wispered Jonas,
"we're almost there" , Jonas was felling more anxious then ever before,
"We're here!" Jonas shouted. Gabe was so happy his fists were
shaking. That was as happy as Gabrial has been scince they'd left.
Jonas got off the sled with a wide smile ,picked up Gabe and walked
to the nearesrt dwelling. "This dwelling is differant then mine",
Jonas said, "it has two stories, and a high piched roof,and more
windows. Then somthing strange came over Jonas. "What is this piece
of machinery, it looks veary strange", said Jonas. He raced through the
tiny bit of memories he had left, yes, he had seen tanks, and other things
with wheels, but he had no memory of seeing this strange thing.Then it
hit him,"car", wispered Jonas, "this must be a car", and he continued.
"This house has green grass like mine, but many more differant colored
flowers", Jonas said. Arn't they pretty Gabe"? Jonas asked,and Gabe, said
in his parrot way of talking"pretty,pretty," and Jonas laughed,and then he
he was heading toward the front door of the dwelling to see if there was
any food. and to his suprise there was nothing, and knocked on the front door
Meanwhile back in the community it was like a crazed mob the
community could not handle the memories alone so they turned to the person
who could. They rushed over to the annex room, the Giver was there waiting
for them. "Giver"! the community screamed at him."Why has this happened
again, the same thing that happened eleven years ago", roared the
community at the Giver and the Giver started crying, because they were
insulting his daughter, and the Giver said, "because me and Jonas knew
it would be a good idea","WHAT!", yelled the community. "YOU THOUGHT IT
WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA"! "YES" shouted back The Giver "you people need
the fellings of love and to see colors, your life is soo dull without
any fellings or colors. Ive watched you everyday and think how you can
live that way. I know I could'nt." Well Giver we don't care what you
think but we still need your help this is too much".replied the community
Back at the dwelling someone was opening the front door.
it was a avarage sized woman with long ,dark brown, curly hair
and some freckels here and there, she was wearing a a long sleeve,
redish blouse, and a lond black dress, and sandals. "Can I help
you two", said the lady "yes", said Jonas "may we come in were
really exaughsted". "Well ok", said the lady "Please come in and have
a seet". "would you like some water". "yes, please, thankyou". The lady
left the room to get the boys water. "I like her she's veary helpful",
said Jonas. The lady was back with their water. and Jonas thanked her again.
"So were are you from"? asked the lady, and Jonas said nothing because
he only thought of the community as "the community". and the lady asked
them if they were doing any buisness in her town, and Jonas said "no".
then the lady asked if they were staying anywhere and if not they'd
like to stay. and Jonas said "you are willing to let us stay here",
and the lady said "of course you two look like you have'nt eaten or
slept in days", and Jonas was soo truly happy he got up and hugged the
lady. and she smiled, and hugged Jonas and Gabe tight, and said "you
two are veary lucky too have found me, if not you probebly would have
starved to death".
