Christmas Remembrance
By Lizzy Halliwell
Phoebe gently picked up the photo sitting on the fireplace mantel which was decorated with garland, bright ribbons, lights of red and green, and tiny bows. The picture was on of her and her two older sisters when they were younger. Phoebe was like Wyatt's age (7) when the picture was taken. Phoebe then left something tug on her pants. She looked down to see her 14 month old daughter, Cheyenne, staring up at her with her beautiful light brown eyes.
"Mama up." The little girl wined.
Phoebe picked up her daughter then showed her the picture.
"Untie Poo!" Cheyenne said pointing at Prue in the picture.
"Yeah Baby, that's Auntie Prue."
"Mama miss?"
"Yeah Baby Mama misses Auntie Prue."
Phoebe then felt tears begin to swell up in her eyes.
"No booboo Mama." Cheyenne said giving her mama a wet kiss.
"Oh sweetie Baby Mama just misses Auntie Prue so much are Christmas." Phoebe said looking at her here daughter.
Suddenly Cheyenne gave her mom one of her sweet smiles and Phoebe couldn't help but smile back.
"Merry Christmas Prue." Phoebe said as she placed the picture back on the mantel.
"Rry tistis Untie Poo." Cheyenne tried to say, which made Phoebe laugh with the tears coming down again.
Later that night as the family opened Christmas presents, Phoebe remembered a poem she had read in some book.
Christmas From The Heart
by Judy Burnette
I heard your voice in the wind today
and I turned to see your face;
The warmth of the wind caressed me
as I stood silently in place.
I felt your touch in the sun today
as its warmth filled the sky;
I closed my eyes for your embrace
and my spirit soared high.
I saw your eyes in the window pane
as I watched the falling rain;
It seemed as each raindrop fell
it quietly said your name.
I held you close in my heart today
it made me feel complete;
You may have died...but you are not gone
you will always be a part of me.
As long as the sun shines...
the wind blows...
the rain falls...
You will live on inside of me forever
for that is all my heart knows.
"I hope your having a wonderful Christmas in heaven Prue." Phoebe though to herself as she went back to watching her daughters open their presents.
