Kikyo's Vow
Here I am basking in defeat
Acknowledging the fact that I was once complete.
With you I knew I could always find bliss
Whether it be security in your arms or rapture in your kiss.
Love is a risk and quite a gamble
And life isn't always that amiable.
So how could I be surprised when she stole you away
Even when I begged you to stay?
Even before then, I noticed you slipping away from me
And how our relationship had grown so empty.
In time we differed and grew apart
Somehow you were replaced in my heart.
A new love and interest became my main concern
And between the old me and the new me, you could barely discern.
Let's face it, I had changed but so did you
But I couldn't admit it, even if it was true.
We had outgrown each other and it was hard to confess
I couldn't believe that I had outgrown love, my head was a mess.
Trying to think what could have possibly have gone awry, that we had
allowed to split us
But it wasn't what had gone wrong but what we had lacked, trust.
I wanted you to change in order to suit me,
You just wanted to love me, and for us to be happy.
In no way did I appreciate who you really were
After I left, you found me in her.
The likenesses that that girl and I share
Was something that I could not bare.
She and I were truly one in the same,
However she could keep you satisfied and tame.
In her you saw me, and it made you fall for her
But with time it changed and in me you saw her.
Sure, I tried to bring you down with me,
But she truly loved you, and wanted you to be free.
Now it's so clear to me, what we had wasn't love at all
But instead a trap that fate set up that we had to befall.
We found that in each other's company
That we could stall the dark depths of misery.
So I wander this Earth not in body but in shell
Hoping to drag you to the deepest pits of hell.
We will reunite once again another day
Once I rid this world of that foul girl, Kagome.
