AN: This is my second Batman Beyond Fanfic. This is also a Terry/Melanie piece. My first one was Reunion. This takes place twenty years in the future.

Melanie Walker-McGinnis sighed as she felt the breeze. Spring was definitely coming and she was ready for it. She was not a cold weather person. It was also a time for cupid and for love to blossom.

She smiled to herself; Cupid had definitely struck her and given her plenty of happiness. She worked as a secretary for Pierre Devon one of the world's biggest fashion designers and he was helping her discover her talent as well.

But it was her personal life that gave her the most reason to smile. She had a loving husband who had inherited Wayne/Powers and Wayne Enterprises from his boss, and even after Bruce Wayne's death, Terry had continued to make it work.

They had three beautiful children, Bruce named for the legendary Bruce Wayne born five weeks before the elder Bruce's death. He was seventeen. Warren, named in honor of Terry's father, he was fourteen. And finally their daughter Melissa age ten and spoiled rotten by her father and two older brothers.

She had come a long way from being a member of the Royal Flush gang, what her family did to earn their name and income still made her skin crawl. Then she had met Terry and he had totally changed her life.

It was the first time she had ever known love and after she had been arrested she thought it was lost forever. Then three years later she'd run into him again hoping he still didn't hate her.

But she knew he hadn't been happy when Bruce Wayne hired her as his secretary until Bruce had turned to Terry and said, "Where would you be without your second chance?"

Slowly Terry warmed up to her and Melanie knew she still and always would love him. But he was dating a woman named Dana; until he was nineteen then she left Gotham to go to college. A year later at the company Christmas party she had wound up under the mistletoe with Terry.

The kiss he gave her was electrifying and sent electricity flowing through her and she hoped that night wasn't the end. Thankfully it wasn't. Bruce then talked to them afterwards telling them to take a chance, if they didn't they would wind up old and alone.

They slowly started to date each not harboring expectations just willing to go with the flow and two years later Terry popped the question.

Melanie had squealed happily, kissing him and jumping into his arms. On New Year's Day they got married and on December 10 of that year Bruce their son had been born.

Melanie smiled at the memory of the elder Bruce Wayne looking at his namesake and Melanie had been glad she had known this man. Eventually Terry gave her another shock; he was the new Batman and had been for quite some time.

Eventually Melanie forgave him for the secrecy and worked on continuing to be the best she could be. She volunteered at youth shelters trying to get kids to follow a law abiding path, telling her story.

She gasped as someone put their arms around her waist, and then relaxed as soon as she realized who it was.

Terry kissed her neck, "sorry love didn't mean to scare you."

Melanie turned around and put her head on his chest, "you could never terrify me, so no Batman tonight?"

"Not right now I'm all yours."

"I'll take that anytime" she whispered and then they shared a tender kiss.

Later as Melanie looked up at the stars she smiled at how lucky she was.
