Smitten With a Dwarf
A/N; Eowyn Gimli, Aragorn, Helm's Deep, etc. belong to Tolkien. 'Kay? This is part of Nate's Christmas present...he knows why. I wrote this after watching TTT extended edition with my lover....err.....Nate. Cille, if you read this; Brad spitting in Viggo's hand, swoon. And do you all realize that Eowyn is a soap opera unto herself? She hates Grima, but he loves her, the opposite with Aragorn, she ends up (somewhere in my school, Carey screams in horror) marring Faramir. And she obviously flirts with Gimli...which leads me to this fic...
Eowyn had nearly forgotten how long the trip from Edoras to Helm's deep was. She walked alongside Gimli's horse.
"Something troubles you lassie?" the dwarf rumbled.
"No..." She trailed off. "And yes. I had a question for you. I've never seen a dwarf woman, do they..."
"It's true, you don't see many dwarf women. In fact, they are so alike in voice and appearance, that they are often mistaken for dwarf men.
Eowyn giggled lightly, throwing her head back. She saw Aragorn who motioned at his chin. "It's the beards" Eowyn's smile faded slightly. When would that stupid human stop macking on her, when she was obviously smitten with Gimli.
"Now, this similarity has given rise to the belief that there are no dwarf women, and little dwarfs just spring out of holes in the ground! Which is, of course, ridiculous-" Suddenly, Gimli lost control of his horse, and he fell off as it charged forward. Eowyn gasped and raced over to help him. He maintained his crude dignity by saying "Nobody Panic, it was intentional. He sat up and Eowyn knelt down and brushed his hair off. Her heart quickened. No, not now, not with her brother and uncle there, as they were against interspecies relationships.

They finally arrived at Helm's Deep, awaiting the arrival of the men who stayed to fight off the Wargs. The men finally arrived. Eowyn took a mental attendance; elf, dwarf, uncle, brother...where was Aragorn?
"Milady" Gimli made his way over to her.
"Where is lord Aragorn?" she asked.
"He fell. "Gimli sounded choked with emotion.
Eowyn gasped. "Oh, no!"
Gimli gave her a hug. "It's allright, lassie"
Eowyn stooped down, gave the dwarf a kiss and stood up.
"Eowyn! Get the supplies into the caves" came Theoden's voice.
"Yes uncle" Eowyn looked to Gimli. " I shall see you soon, master dwarf"
"Till, then, milady"Gimli kissed her hand before she left.
