Swish, Swish, Flap. Lavender flipped through the pages of her diary. It was now full and she would have to buy another one. She held it in her hands, her fingers a shield. It held all of her memories, triumphs, hopes, and dreams from the past year. Now, when she needed a place to write down the dark, secretive thoughts she was having, she had nothing but a book filled with crinkly pages that couldn't be used.

Searching around the room, her eyes spied the printer paper tucked neatly away underneath her phone book. She glided across the room, took a piece of paper, sat at the desk, and began to write.

"I can't stand it anymore. I'm a sophomore in high school, and to act this way over a boy is simply crazy."

Her pencil scratched the paper as she wrote.

"I'm stuck. All I can think to do is 'move on' yet I can't. I see him everyday. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!"

Chase Morgan was every girl's premeditated version of shear perfection. Dark chestnut eyes pierced the space just below his chocolate eye brows. A cute nose complimented his rosy cheeks. To top it all off, his chin was George Cloony's through and through. He stood on muscular legs with the definition of a body builder. Not only did he play basketball, but he was the Vice President of Glynn County High School's FBLA chapter. He was also active in the FFA, and a proud pitcher for the Glynn County Cougars baseball team. Yes, he was a class favorite. Among all of his accomplishments, "loyal boyfriend" could be added to the list. This made Lavender want to cry. She just knew that he was the one for her, even if they had only spoken once. She continued to write.

"When he hugs her I just want to puke. Gag, gag, barf in a bag. She's just not right for him. I JUST KNOW!"

The more she wrote, the angrier she became. Getting frustrated, she gave up, crinkled the paper into a tight ball, and through into the waste bucket beside her filing cabinet. She crept back to her bed, and collapsed on her pillow. Her eyes fluttered and before she could shift into a comfortable position, she was fast asleep.
