A/N: Try to visualize this songfic like a "silent movie." "Daisy" was written and composed by Harry Dacre in 1892 and may be in the public domain. An excellent midi good for sing-along can be found on ingeb dot org.

There is a flower within my heart,
Daisy, Daisy!
Planted one day by a glancing dart,
Planted by Daisy Bell!...

Late in the afternoon, Twister discovered this ancient three-speed blue Schwinn tandem buried in the back of his garage underneath an olive-drab tarpaulin. Carefully he dusted it off and blew out the cobwebs, then he performed a cursory mechanical inspection of the bike. After carefully repressurizing the tires, he rode it around the bulb of the culdesac a few times, just to make sure everything worked. It did, and beautifully.

...Whether she loves me or loves me not,
Sometimes it's hard to tell;
Yet I am longing to share the lot
Of beautiful Daisy Bell!

He pulled up into the Rockets' driveway. Reggie was expecting him, as he'd rung her a little earlier in the day telling her to expect "a little surprise." She came to the door, amazed how cute the old bike looked. She grabbed her helmet and stepped out to join him. After a little bit of discussion, they agreed that he would be in front for the first part of their trip, and she would have the conn for the second.

Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer, do!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage,
But you'll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two!

We will go "tandem" as man and wife,
Daisy, Daisy!
Ped'ling away down the road of life,
I and my Daisy Bell!...

They rode down to the Shore Shack. Tito and Breezy were on duty there and gave Twister and Reggie each a strawberry milkshake. As they nourished themselves, they admired the beautiful sunset and realized it was getting a bit late, so they decided to head homeward. Reggie took the front seat. They checked out Surfview Terrace and the Old West Grade; though it was a bit out of the way it was much less of a climb than the Incline, because the old red trolleys used this same route to get topside on the way into the city.

....When the road's dark we can despise
P'liceman and lamps as well;
There's enough light in the dazzling eyes
Of beautiful Daisy Bell!

Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer, do!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage,
But you'll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two!

I will stand by you in "wheel" or woe,
Daisy, Daisy!
You'll be the bell(e) which I'll ring, you know!
Sweet little Daisy Bell!...

They huffed and puffed their way into the neighborhood. Raul and Sandy were standing in front of the Rodriguez house. As they dismounted, Reggie thinking quickly relieved Twister of his helmet, then shyly smiling, gently put the helmets on Raul and Sandy's heads. Twister's parents beamed benevolently at each other as Reggie and Twister helped them onto the bike. At first, the adults, Sandy at the helm, showed a little bit of awkwardness, but soon cruised off into the twilight with confidence.

....You'll take the lead in each trip we take,
Then if I don't do well;
I will permit you to use the brake,
My beautiful Daisy Bell!

Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer, do!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage,
But you'll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two!

Reggie took Twister under her arm and headed for her house. As they looked at each other, she recalled a favorite recipe for lasagna...
