Evolution: the changing of a species over time. Is it safe to say that all species evolve? Is there ever a point in time when a species has reached perfection? Never. There is always a struggle, a fight that can never end good against evil. One species in particular: Transformers. It started with the Autobots and Decipticons, and continued as they evolved. Millions of generations later, they still fight. They have become smaller, faster, and more intelligent (well, the good ones anyway), and yet the battle rages again in a new war: the Beast Wars. Maximals against Predacons. Although the forces of good once again claimed victory, the struggle evolved as they did. Now, millions of generations after the Beast Wars ended, the time has come once again. This time, there are no weapons. No guns to fire, no bases to defend.
They have evolved, not physically, but mentally. Each transformer now has a unique form of telekinesis. Some control fire, some control thoughts, some control the land they walk on. One thing, however, has not changed the inability to dream. Transformers can't dream, right? The transformers of the future have a legend. The legend of the Ekundu.
Every 100th generation, the stars align in a pattern and bless one, and only one, cybertronian with the gift of visions. In these visions, the future is revealed. He has no other ability, so he must always be protected. These visionaries are always set apart from the rest. The transformer is always male, born with a special set of large, golden wings. His eyes are the purest of white, as is his soul.
The Ekundu is said to be the most powerful visionary. It is said that the Ekundu is different in every way. It shall be more powerful, yet more delicate. Strong, yet weak. Beautiful, yet deadly. The thinkers of every generation have analyzed it in every way possible, and every question has been answered. Every question, that is, but one: does the Ekundu lie in the future, or is it buried in the past?
Most believe that the legend is coming, but two leaders think it has already passed, and now they race into the past to find the answer. But who will find it first? The fate of one race lies on the outcome, and the life of one transformer will never be the same...
