Bishop
(A/N: The first part of this story i.e. the video has been adapted from the comic book, and I feel free to point out the disclaimer of me not owning X-men, Avengers…etc etc)
Central Europe, The Future:
"Scott…Bobby, Forge… anyone?!" said Rouge in a panicked voice, "The X-men have been betrayed by…." *static* "He's killed them all! Ah'm not sure if anyone's receiving this but ya'll must worn the Fantastic Four.. the Avengers, everyone."
Rouge turned and stopped looking at the camera, fear and anger on her face.
"You!" she screamed, "You may have killed the X-men, but the dream will never…"
DIE? a telepathic voice boomed On the contrary, Girl. The dream is dead.
The video ended there and the man known as Bishop continued to stare at the static screen.
"Don' beat yourself up about it Mon aime," A voice said from behind him,
Bishop turned and got out of the chair.
"Gambit?" he asked
The Cajun looked at the screen.
"You weren't there. You didn't know." He then added, "It's time, we gotta send you back now if we gonna do it at all."
Bishop nodded, he didn't want to go back… but he had to do it… he had to find the X-traitor, and kill him.
Bishop left for the time travel device made by Forge and Gambit looked at the floor.
"Forget it bub," a voice growled "I don't wanna do it either, not him. But if we don't… then this is what'll happen."
Gambit turned to Wolverine, the only X-man to survive Onslaught first attack. Gambit was having doubts, but if it meant saving Rouge then he'd do it. He never pictured himself fighting the good fight, but it felt right. Heck if the world wasn't in such a bad shape, he might even enjoy it. He just hoped he still felt that way after making everything right again.
***The Lab***
"Are you ready?" asked Forge
Bishop said nothing, Forge's machine was untested as usual, but he had no doubt it would work.
Slowly Bishop nodded, checking his guns one last time.
Then he entered the time stream.
The machine began to smoke… then steam…
"What's goin' on Bub?!" asked Wolverine
"The machine…malfunctioned, I've corrected it but Bishop may have some short term memory loss due to the malfunction. He might not remember why he was sent back in time." Forge explained
"We best hope he remembers fast, for all our sakes." Wolverine said, as his bone claws ripped through his skin "Very fast. We got company."
A gigantic foot tore through the roof of the shoddy hide out.
"Sentinels!!" Said Gambit, "X-men, get to the lab quickly! We're in trouble.."
As the new X-men, ran towards the Lab, the realised that either way… this could very well be their last fight.
The Xavier Institute, U.S.A, Time: The Present.
Lorna and Amara we're heading back to the Xavier institute, when the sky opened above their heads and a man fell at their feet, they looked at each other in shock, he was wearing an X-men uniform and he had a gun.
He began to wake up slowly…
The end.
