The last agent disappeared and the rebels checked the damage. 4 dead innocent people. Probable candidates for rebels. Trinity shook her head as she looked at the dead bodies. They decided to see if they had any weapons on them so they could be re-used in case of an agent attack again. Trinity leant over a body of a young male with deep black hair. The person was on their stomach so she turned them over. She cried out loud and backed off shaking. Neo rushed over to Trinity's side. She had her back to him and was shaking, obvious to Neo she was crying.

"Trinity, what's wrong?" he asked but she wouldn't answer. They called Link and exited the Matrix. As soon as she was out, she ran to her room. Later Neo went to see how she was. She had stopped crying but was still upset. He sat beside her.

"Trin, please tell me. Why were you crying?" he asked.

She sighed and told him.

"One. One of the people killed by the agents. One of them. I knew. The person. The person was my brother".

Neo stared at her before giving her a hug. She began crying again and Neo let her have some peace. She lay crying on her bed. Crying for her brother's death. Crying for her family she left.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Jason chased Summer through the field of their Kansas home, both laughing happily. Summer was a beautiful little girl of 8 with shoulder length black hair and stern blue eyes that held all emotions back. Jason also had dark hair but had gentle grey eyes and a dusting of light freckles over his face. Marion came out and called Summer in. Jason ran in after his sister but was stopped by their mother.

"Why can't I come in as well mom?" he asked but was hushed by Marion.

Marion was a beautiful woman of 28 with stunning green eyes and the most beautiful laugh possible. She had deep red hair that fell over her shoulder and the most flawless skin imaginable. Their father didn't live with them since after Summer was born and Jason was 2.

Talking to his mother was a tall man about 30 with short dark hair and blue eyes. He had a stern glare and seemed to be angry at everything. Summer stood looking at the floor, her mother's arms protectively around her.

"I told you never to come here Joseph. You know the kids aren't to see you. You left" Marion told the man.

Angrily he slapped Marion around the face. Summer looked at the pair of adults in horror. Screaming she ran from the house to the tree house. Sobbing she lay on the wooden floor. Jason ran after her. His trousers ripped on the long rough grass. Finally reaching the tree house, he found a distraught Summer sobbing. This was something she never did.

"Summer. Don't cry. Please" he said, trying to coax her to stop. Slowly she did and she looked teary-eyed at her brother before hugging him.

"Oh Jason. I was scared. I didn't want to see mommy hurt and he hit her," she whispered.

Jason nodded while hugging his sister. "Don't worry. No matter what happens, I'll be here for you".

Trinity sat up and wiped her eyes. Jason's word echoed in her head. 'No matter what happens, I'll be here for you'. He was right. No matter that he was dead, he would still look after her, just not while alive. This brought comfort to Trinity so she finally found rest.
