Never Meant To Be

A/N: Another little L/L fic. This one's a songfic done to Sting's never meant to be. I was listening to it on the radio and fought it was perfect. I really should be working on other stuff, but oh well. The lyrics are in Italics and have little stars around them. It's supposed to be sad. I think, I have been writing too fluffy lately. So, if you feel sad in this story then it is a success. This is kind one-sided love in a sense. All in Lucius point of view.

I glanced at her. She wasn't even looking at me. That hurt more, than any insult. She was too busy talking with Potter. They were holding hands I noticed.

* This was never meant to be *

'Looks like I have been replaced' I thought. 'It hasn't even been two days'. "I knew this would happen. I always knew," he mumbled quietly.

* All the signs were there to see *

I sighed and glanced at her sadly. 'I knew I should never have pursue a relationship.' 'Me and my big mouth' I mused. 'Maybe if I never talk to her..'

* From the first moment that we met *

I shook his head to shove the memories aside. 'Yet,' I thought glancing at her. 'Some things you always know'

* I knew this was never meant to be *

I dragged my eyes away from her. 'Perhaps' I muttered. 'I always knew.'

* This was always doomed to fail *

'I never should have ever made that dumb suggestion.' 'It was such a mistake.'

* From the moment we set sail *

'Even when we shared that first kiss. Both of us knew, somehow.'

I left the great hall in the mob of people. I went down to the dugeons. I grab his cloak and walk outside.

'The cold doesn't matter much anymore. Not since you left. I glanced to the pathways to the gardens of Hogwarts. I saw him wrapped his arms around you.

I sighed.

"We would fall at the first question," I bitterly stated.
