It all looked like a foreign land. The trees that surrounded him looked far away, and his own breath seemed to be just an echo on the breeze. Slowly he sank down to his knees, starring in disbelief at the hands he's stretched before him. Slowly turning his hands over, examing them as if they had not been attached to his arms for years. A tear slides down his cheeck and a sob threatens to escape his throat. It's over.

He cowers over his blood soaked hands rushing to hold his head, a harsh sob escaping his lips. It was over, after 17 years of fighting and striving it was over. Relief flushed over his soul, quieting his mind for a brief moment of peace. Finally he could know what it was to live. To not fear in every waking moment that it would be your last. The tears were flowing generously now, and there was no stopping the silent wracking of sobs comming now.

An unsturdy hand resting on his shoulder, brought his attention to the present. He peered up slowly from his knees, on the muddy earth, gazing up at the one person who truly supported him. The one person who without a doubt made his survival possible. The tears glimered in his eyes, as he looked up at his savior with hope in his eyes.

"It is done," the savior said, his voice quavering a bit, and eyes shinning with emotion. Grieving with Despair for all those that had been lost during the years to the battle that seemed would never end. Despair for all the years that had been lost to them, and yet- hoping. Hoping that in the years to come, peace will be had again. That they will move on and live their lives together with hapiness and will one day be able to forget the horenduos circumstances which brought them together.

"It is done", he repeated.

The boy let another sob escape from his throat, throwing his arms about the others waist, hugging him as tightly as he possibly could. The savior slowly crouched before the boy, smoothing unruly black curls from his forhead, running his thumb over the many scars that marred the once beautiful face. Black eyes clashed with Green. Nothing more had to be said. the savior brought the boys head to his chest, clutching him tightly.

A tear rolled down his cheeck slowly. There was a muffled noise comming from his chest, the boy pulled his head away., and smiled.

"Don't cry," he said, wiping away his lovers tears, "We're free of him, Severus. He'll never hurt you again."

Severus Snape looked at the boy, knowing he was right. They were free. "I know Harry. I know."
