"One Opportunity"

A/N: MERRY CHRISTAMAS, CILLE!!!!!!!

I threw off the covers of my bed and rolled off of my bed. I poked my head out of my door to see if anyone was around. No one was, but I should not expect them to be. I was in the most secluded room in the entire Museneld. I closed my door again and went to my washbasin. I looked in the mirror that hung above it. No wonder the people of Rohan thought me horrendous and sickly. I was, with my pasty skin and dark greasy hair, I knew they were right. It...it just would have been nice to have just one opportunity to be accepted, by anyone.

Through these trials, I had made something of myself in their society. I was advisor to Theoden, King of Rohan. I had corrupted him so he would work to my will. I sat next to my king. Suddenly the door was thrown open. Four people entered; an elf, a man and a dwarf and Gandalf. Damn. Stupid Istari, always messing up my plans.

"The courtesy of your hall is somewhat lessened of late" Gandalf exclaimed. I Whispered to Theoden what to say to the unwelcome guest. The man, the human, he was hot! God, I never thought I'd think anyone, save Eowyn was hot. God, I'd like to…never mind. And the man wouldn't like me anyway. I was stupid, greasy old Wormtongue.

I stood and approached Gandalf. "Late is the hour that this conjurer chooses to appear" What was I saying? It was the wee hours of the morning. "Lathspell I name him. Ill news is an ill guest"

"Be silent. Keep your forked tongue behind your teeth" Gandalf must think he is soooo witty, to think up a line like that. He waved his staff at me. Oh, shit. He didn't like me either.

I told you to take the wizard's staff…"Then there was a fight and Gandalf fixing Theoden as Theoden got his sword, he turned to me. I was thrown out of the hall.

"I've only, ever served you, my lord" I cried out, crawling backward in hopes of saving my own life.

"Your leechcraft would have me crawling on all fours like a beast" he growled.

"Send me not from your side!!!" I cried out.

Theoden raised his sword. Suddenly, hot human guy rushed in to save me. "My lord" he intervened. "Enough blood has been spilt on his account." He extended his hand to me.

I spat in it. Then I ran.

As I rode to Isengaurd, I began to regret my lost opportunity.
